Aegis Volunteer Job Services It's our job to help teens and senior citizens find a job
WELCOME to our Volunteer Services. We are a complete volunteer job placement service for senior citizens and young adults. Aegis Volunteer Job Services is an out of the kindness of your heart volunteer program in which no one receives any pay. Our Mission "We must view young people not as empty bottles to be filled, but as candles to be lit."--Robert H. Shaffer 堭ust view our senior citizens as wise people who know the way and who could guide and assist the younger people in going the way栌. Louis Jordan Aegis Volunteer Job Services mission is to remain the "go to" webpage and online career and recruitment site for Monmouth County, New Jersey teenagers and senior citizens. This endeavor meets a growing need for today's youth and senior citizens and fills a void in targeted low cost local recruitment advertising. When we launched Aegis on April 15th, 2010, and after considerable research, no other companies were helping seniors and teens on a county basis. We were the first online county service dedicated to Monmouth County Senior Citizens actively seeking work. Job hunting for teens is haphazard at best. More than 80% of teens starting at the age of 14 want to work. Many teens feel their income is a necessity rather than a luxury. Others realize that work-based learning early in life will help prepare them for the future. If you
are the parent of a teen:
We catch young people at the moment 襹楥l they are ready to work. It is at this time that young people make critical choices that affect their transition into adulthood and shape their perceptions about the world of work. Work experience at this stage in life is critical, and people who spend a large share of their young adult years unemployed have a hard time finding and keeping a job later in life. Our Founder L. Louis Jordan, founder of Aegis is a seasoned law enforcement executive who has a impressive history of networking with business professionals and placing both young adults and senior citizens to work. Mr. Jordan is a published author, noted speaker and an expert resource to gangs, cultural diversity, school violence, and community and public relations. He manages a staff of thirteen and many volunteers. MORE SENIOR CITIZENS ARE SEEKING JOBS With
rents and property taxes increasing, along with medical costs and gas prices,
many retirees are re-entering the work force to make ends meet. One woman
said, 根ou want to keep your home, pay for your medication or have any type
of life, you have to work.Ⲿ
What we
found across the country is that older workers are staying in their current jobs
longer as a result of financial uncertainties.
